“I Haven’t Needed a Chiropractor, Thank God”  

I occasionally hear this when I meet a new person and they ask me what I do for a living.

“I’m a Chiropractor”

“Cool. I’ve never needed a Chiropractor, thank God”.

The rest of the conversation usually amounts to this: “I haven’t had back pain or neck pain or headaches, so I’ve never needed to go to a Chiropractor”.

Although chiropractic has been incredibly safe and effective for over 120 years for patients with back pain or headaches, patients visit Chiropractors for a wide range of health concerns.

To find out more about that, speak to a Chiropractor directly.  Some see great improvements in posture (especially teenagers), others describe benefits to their overall feeling of wellness, and there’s much more.

But many people who have had great results with chiropractic choose to continue getting adjusted even after their pain is gone.

Why would they do that?

Well, to answer that, perhaps a series of questions is appropriate.

Do you care for your teeth even though they aren’t hurting?  Yes, you do.

Do you care for your skin even though it’s not a “problem”.  Probably.

Do you care for your muscles by stretching, your digestion with probiotics, your hair with vitamin infused shampoo? Yes, yes, yes.

Do you get new running shoes to take care of your feet even though they haven’t started hurting yet? Probably.

So, in my experience most people proactively take care of MOST of their body in various ways.

But what happens when you don’t take care to make sure the joints of your body are moving and aligned properly?  They degenerate and can develop degenerative arthritis.

This is even MORE important when we’re talking about the joints of the spine.

So, you may not have NEEDED a Chiropractor to help you out of a pain crisis but you would still benefit from chiropractic by caring for your spine.

You can get false teeth, you can get a prosthetic eye, but what will you do if your spine wears out?

Those occasional, very rare, every once in a while pain episodes are like the light on the dash of your car occasionally saying “Check Engine”.  Waiting until the light is ALWAYS on is probably not the best approach.

You don’t need symptoms to get the alignment and movement of your spine assessed.  Life is constantly breaking it down, so getting ahead of it is only going to benefit you.

THEN, maintaining and caring for your spine and nervous system the way you do for your hair, and your skin, and your digestive tract, will pay huge dividends down the road, if you choose to do that.

This is perhaps the best thing about chiropractic.  Preventative, drug-free, whole-body health.  Having a vision for a healthy future and being able to MAKE IT HAPPEN.

Maybe you’ve never thought about HOW or WHY you would do something to maintain the health of your spine and nervous system.  Hopefully, now it makes some sense.

Wellness care helps keep joints moving and may slow or prevent the development of spinal degenerative arthritis among other awesome benefits.

Chiropractic is the most used non-pharmaceutical form of health care in the world.  If you haven’t gone to a Chiropractor yet, thinking that your lack of back pain makes it unnecessary, you may be missing out on great, natural, drug-free health.
