Numbness and Tingling Are Often a Sign of THIS…. Here’s What to Do About It

You know the feeling.  That annoying buzz in your hand or your leg that interrupts your work, and makes sleep very difficult.

Numbness and tingling are becoming more and more common. And there is a good reason for that (see below).

But if you’re experiencing numbness and tingling now, you just want it gone.

If you look at the architecture of the spine, you’ll see that between two vertebrae is a disc.  And the height of that disc determines the size of the hole that nerves travel through when exiting the spine.

When the disc gets smaller, the hole for the nerve gets smaller.  Under the right circumstances, that starts choking the nerve and produces the pain/numbness and tingling.

Now there are several reasons the disc may lose height and put pressure on the nerve, but the most common reason is progressive degeneration.

In the modern world, many people work by sitting at a computer (and those who don’t typically have physical, bending and twisting type work).

Prolonged sitting has been shown to compress the discs in the lower back over time.  And, prolonged computer work often puts the head in an ergonomically unfriendly position which promotes progressive disc degeneration in the neck.

Car and sports accidents, smoking, and being overweight can accelerate this progressive degeneration process.

So, what can you do about it?

Well, start by drinking more water.  The discs are like wet Gummie Bears.  When they become dehydrated, they get smaller.  So drink more water.

Second, get an x-ray.

Numbness and tingling has other causes besides progressive disc degeneration. An x-ray will rule IN, disc degeneration as a cause.  If there is no disc degeneration, look for other causes.

Finally, see a Chiropractor.  Restoring alignment and movement to vertebrae helps bring water back into the discs (to some degree) and more importantly, will help you stop having that numbness and tingling.

Your success story is waiting to be written.

We can help you.

As always, with love.
